Here is a letter I sat down and wrote to my 24yr self.
Dear 2025 Claire,
The year is 2025 and you are 24 years old.
I expect you to be well into the good college of your choice and are working part time as a writer for a magazine company (ideally Vogue).
You should be living in a small house or apartment with large windows and white walls. Put the effort into the décor of your home, I know it’s important to you.
Make sure you talk to your parents often, especially your father. You are very important to him.
I hope you can buy all the high street, fabulous clothing that you have been eyeing since age 14 in all your Vogue magazines.
I assume you are still doing everything you love (writing, shopping, photographing, playing tennis and golf and riding horses.)
I wish that Alex (your brother) is doing exactly what he wants to do. I hope he eventually has kids (not too young) (I want nieces/nephews)
As for mom, I hope she is living where she wants and is in the presence of friends.
As for Dad, I wish that he is healthy, enjoying himself, and living life to the fullest in his later days.
Don’t worry about getting married and having kids, I don’t worry about it now, and you don’t have to worry about it either. If the right person comes along, go for it, otherwise continue living your dreams. Dont be afraid to try the unknown. Kids are wonderful and you will be a great mother if the right oppurtnity comes along. (You can always adopt)
Most importantly, I hope you still keep your morals and still pertain the class your parents worked so hard to implant in you. Stay a good person, always help others, and change the world.
Treat your body with the respect it deserves. Eat healthy, stay healthy, work out.
Is a selfie still a trend? Do people still say “have several seats” and “on fleek”?
Do I need to have several seats? Am I still on fleek?
Is Anna Wintour still editor in chief, Is Grace Coddington still creative director?
Have you met either of them?
Best wishes
Love,
2015 Claire
